Does anyone feel a little less special now that there are these little F-Sport IS's running around wearing our badges?? Or am I just a little nutty...

Nah. It doesn't bother me. The way I look at it is, it is still a 350. There will always be people upgrading cars looks to make it something it is not. I know the difference, that's all that matters.
btw..what do you want the poll options to be?

doesn't matter
why don't they just buy an F
poll options sound good to me hehe
I like it. Even the gf knows the difference, often saying "awww cute, it's a baby F!".

TBH, it can do nothing but help the brand image. We could really use a larger aftermarket community and prove to Lexus (via sport product/car sales) that performance is a marketable feature worth investing in. Lexus has everyone beat in quality, but performance and styling sells cars to anyone with a pulse.

Another reason for making the 350 RWD only available as F sport is probably the slump in sales. Their wasn't anything really "cool" about the 250/350 that would bring in the younger male crowd.

Seeing Lexus carve out the 350 RWD and make it F sport only, is actually a great indication they plan to sell cars in the land of the living and not to the retirement home crowd.

As for feeling special, you know what they say about imitation...

Its like having a bunch of little minions zipping around. :)

I never thought about it that way. I might have to change my view from doesn't bother me to that I like the idea. Thanks for the insight. I just hope that Lexus will view it the same way.
NP, although it is optimistic, I hope it is the direction they plan to take. The new GS should be a good indication if they plan to make a competitive sports car.

I was reading Wikipedia and saw this:

The LS 460 Sport—a performance variant equipped with a sport-tuned air suspension, Brembo brakes, forged wheels, paddle shifters, body kit, and a unique interior—was added.[110][111] The Sport model received the Sport Direct Shift transmission, also found in the Lexus IS F, with downshift rev-matching capability and manual mode.
F Sport LS? :)
doesnt bother me...would be a good thing if the Fsport details were a different color from F. but those in the know, know whats up. at least they are getting quality factory backed goods.
I don't like it. As little as this is, it still takes away from the ISF. As it is, the ISF only has a few cosmetic difference from the IS. I'm not knocking on the Fsport. I just think Lexus need to find other ways of showing the Fsport than taking cues from the ISF. As it is, when the USB color became non exclusive, I was a bit unhappy. The ISF is understated and I think a few more exclusive cues will be cool. I agree it's flattering others want to be like an ISF. But how special do you feel when most regular people already have a hard time telling a difference between an ISF and regular IS?

Why do people fix up their cars and make it different? Besides the obvious in upgraded performance, I'd say to stand out also. To look different than others, to set themselves apart. Simple change of wheels, rear diffuser, painting calipers, vinyl wrap roof, etc. These are all things we do, not only because we enjoy it and like it, but it also makes our cars different. First comes USB color being available, then the Fsport badge, now aftermarket ISF fender and rear bumper is available. It doesn't bother me THAT much, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me at all. I'll stop rambling my 2 cents....LOL

DITTO Airvtec. I DO NOT like it but BMW does the same thing with the 335ci and the fake M badging in the car. It just takes away from the exclusivity of the IS-F. I bought the IS-F because it WAS and IS an IS-F. Not a rebranded ISxxx with some stupid F added. And Lexus, USB was supposed to be on the F only!!!
Sorry for my negativity, I just dont like it.

Does not bother me either. Those are nice also.

ok so i accually saw this today on an ISxxx behind me opposite lane about three cars back. Looking through my rearview I saw the F badge and thought oh cool another F then I noticed the air intakes and fog surround and thought those look a little small. then I thought back to this thread and my statement above and I would now like to withdraw that statement. I even answered it wrong. the question was about the badge and i thought it was about the parts...anyway long story short, I have to equate it to M badging a non M BMW (same as what ADYARS stated) I never liked that when people did it and now that ive seen it on the ISxxx I dont like it. Just my little rant.
AHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGHHHHH! Ok so this girl parks behind me in our garage. she has always had an IS250.....untill yesterday this showed up FSPORT GS.yeah it must be somewhat contageious ;) im not a fan but whatever. her money right.
