i dont know if im as curious as others, but to put it bluntly.... where the [email protected]#$ are my headers?

the "they should be ready in 3 weeks" was up almost 3 weeks ago. i'd like to get them on my car before it [email protected]#$ing snows this year.

SIKKY!?

I'm curious here...I can see the point everyone's making in regards to leaving the headers as is to form a seal that's at each opening versus forcing a seal across the entire surface, but when I look at a lot of other headers I see a smooth surface all the way across. Below is the shot of Porsche 911 stock headers on the left and aftermarket ones on the right. Stock has perfectly smooth mating surface and I don't hear of owners complaining about leaks. The aftermarket ones have individual mating surfaces. Maybe that's what needs to be done for the ISF?

And let's just assume that yes, it's better to have non-smooth ones, the openings to the tubing seems pretty crappy anyhow. Shouldn't they still be nicely rounded out regardless of the mating surface?

Those aftermarket Porsche headers look sweet. The holes look about a quarter to third surface area larger than stock.

well personally not having touched the exhaust ports myself, but having seen the picture on the install guidelines, it looks as if the ports on the block have raised surfaces from the casting on the head. so this would make the gaskets seal around the opening first, and technically would not matter if the flange was flat or if there was a raised surface. the problem here on these headers is that the raised surface is far from round, and the gaskets would have to be placed perfectly, and even then you are getting a small seal on a few places.
I'm installing mine at a shop on monday, I plan on staying to help out. I'll let everyone know how it goes :) Not looking forward to the 108 degree weather though :(
I looked at the factory headers and as far as the raised welds being uneven on the sikky headers, the same applies to the two front most ports on the factory headers, the lip has a different thicknesses as it goes around. Also the gasket is larger than the factory exhaust ports so the fact that the sikky headers are smaller than the gasket is irrelevent. It appears that the same holds true for the factory exhaust ports, centering the gasket to make all portions even on the exhaust manifold is undoable as far as I've been able to try.

Anyway back to the install. :)

Keep us updated. :D I got my PTS JoeZ exhaust back on yesterday and man I'm so happy again. I love how the car sounds and pulls!

I needed to buy new 02 sensors I got one but the 2nd had to be overnighted from cali so I'm waiting on that one. So far I have the drivers side on, the 2nd sensor should arrive at 8 am tomorrow so I'll get cracking on the 2nd part. I'm just hoping they sent me the right sensors, they plug in fine but the tip looks different than the OEM one even though both are denso.

I'm curious how the F would fair against a C63 with a tune.

In a straight line against a Renntech or Kleeman tune, the F would probably lose a couple cars...I think it would be pretty close, but a tuned C is putting about 450-460 to the wheels...Probably down to the driver and reaction more than anything...

I meant a modded F with exhaust/intake/headers....

I know...All these guys are puttin down around 420 at the wheels and the F only weighs around 100lb. less that a C63...A couple guys with C63's tuned here in Dallas run high 11's...11.8-11.9...I think the F's transmission is a LOT faster so I'm guessing it's probably a pretty close race...With an M3 sucking exhaust from both of em :D

And also for the F less trips to the dealer with warranty issues...lol Are you looking for a C63?

Nope, I'm looking for an F :D Do you know how much just that tune on the C is..?? haha it's f'in retarded modding those things...$3500 is the cheapest LT's you'll find for em, and you still have to get race cats and an X-pipe, AND they aren't even ceramic coated...It's ridiculous...I've had my AMG fill for a little while...

And while a C might show you it's exhaust in a straight line, I have no doubt I could leave my buddy behind on the racetrack in an F

I would say they are making about 390... They make over 400 on a Dyna Pack, and they are known to read very high.. Most on a Dyno Jet is 389whp.. Splats pry made about 430whp but I don't know for sure.
Ok so they were the right sensors even though they looked different. The car is AMAZING now, the sound is out of this world, EVERYBODY was staring at the Lexus like it was some kind of Ferrari or something. I drove around for 60 miles after the install just listening to the awesome tone.

For the record I installed them as is with no modifications, I had no leaks whatsoever everything sealed right the first time and no check engine lights or any other problems except for the fact that my MPG dropped a lot but I'm sure thats more due to my now heavier foot :p

The install was pretty straight forward and we did it without much fuss. Some of the bolts are a little hard to get to (dropping a bolt into the hole between where the 4 pipes merge sucks, stuff a paper in there or something to prevent that or have a long magnetic tipped tool ready to fish them out just in case.

And that is why dyno numbers mean nothing except pre and post :D I've never had my cars on anything but Mustangs for tuning, so I never get numbers to brag about, but I love knowing it was tuned on a load bearing...

Infinus - Sounds Nasty man...I like it...A LOT..!!

Congratz, dam it sounds just plain sick!
Congrats and welcome to the SIKKY club! You car sounds bad @$$!!! Did you dyno the car before and after the install? I totally agree with you about the drop in MPG. I can't keep my foot off the gas now! Good times!!!

How about a CTS-V?

That graph is not corrected (SAE) but (STD).
