The do it yourself windshield repair kits aren't very effective. If you want the crack or chip repaired, a good reputable glass company can do it. It doesn't make the damage disappear, it just helps stop it from growing. Windshield replacement is your only other option, and you probably would be better off claiming it on your insurance coverage. Comprehensive losses are non chargeable, but you will need to pay for your deductible.
