damaged rim

i got my rear tires replaced about three weeks ago at my local dealership.

it was a very busy three weeks, and i did not get to wash the car until today.

upon inspection today, i noticed a nice gouge in one of rear rims....obviously not a parking scratch mark.

i garage the car at home, and park it in a gated lot during the day. the damage
definitely occurred during the tire change. the rim did not have any other damage.

any suggestions on how to approach the dealership? it has been a few weeks, but i know it happened there. i am the only one who drives the car, and nothing else happened during this time that could even remotely explain the damage....

FYI. i have the tire/rim package, if it means anything...

My suggestion would be to make a phone call to the service manager at the dealership and gently engage in conversation with him and explain as you have here, your situation. Perhaps he will set up a time for you to come by and inspect the wheel in person. Although some of the responsibility falls on you to inspect the car when you pick it up you might find that the dealer will be of some help.

Any luck with getting the dealership to repair? My wheel was damaged as well between the time when I dropped my car off at Lexus to have the tire on the wheel repaired and when I picked up the car. I pointed it out when I picked up the car but the service rep wouldn't do anything about it.
i called the guy at the dealership the next day, and he was out to lunch, and then i never followed up....too busy and it slipped my mind. now it has been over a month, so i am probably going to let it pass..

i do not think i am going to go back to that dealership anymore anyway. one tire was replaced under the warranty, the other i had to pay for.

they charged me $401 for the one bridgstone, ($320 something for the tire, $80 to be mounted and balanced) and i kind of feel that is highway robbery.

i found the same tire for $230 on tirerack, and i am sure i could have had it shipped, mounted and balanced for around $300 total.

i know lexus dealerships are notoriously expensive, but i feel the mark up on both the tire and the mounting/balancing is way out of control. i should have just had the warranty tire replaced, and gotten the other one by myself...live and learn
Try to find a wheel repair place. If you're willing to ship your wheel to the West Coast, I can point you to one place that can fix it. They work on mostly exotics, but they were kind enough to fix my Gold BBS wheel when I had my WRX STi.
I have a FL and RL rim that I got in trade that I could sell or trade you. I can provide references or even do the transaction through ebay if that would help cover your risk. I know I am new here so I am expecting so flack for trying to sell here I am ok with that.

The bottom line is that i have 2 IS-F wheels that I can't use and would like to get them to somebody who can.
thanks biggie,

after that post some stupid lady lightly hit my rear quarter panel and the same rim, and then drove away even though i got her plate number and tapped on her window letting her know i was calling the police.

i had a witness, and after the dealership attempted to repaint the rim twice, the insurance company approved a brand new one.
Well, Glad to hear it worked out for you. I can't believe that people are that irresponsible to flagrantly drive away when you were standing right there.

I have had one of my rims touched up after a curb "jumped" out in front of me (it's never my fault), and no matter what it won't be an exact match, but unless you are looking for it you generally don't notice the mismatch.
I sold the front. Still have one rear wheel for sale.
If it dont work out with the dealership try WHEELS TECHNOLOGY in Carrolton TX.
Biggie, do you still have the rim, i had a valet curb my front left and rear left rim. i am in texas as well
