Customized Settings for IS-F

Hey guys... do we really have to go to the Lexus Dealership to have the 'customized' features programmed?

I'd like 'one touch' of the door to unlock all doors.

I'd like DRL's off

Maybe a couple other 'minor' ones... but these are the major ones.

Also.. the book says 'remote' will close all windows and moonroof... but I cannot get mine too?

Thanks,
Dave

Could be like Benz. My lock and unlock buttons open and close the windows and pano roof, but I have to be very close and pointing at the door handle sensor..?? No idea if Lexus works the same way, but I know BMW does it that way also...
I think it depends on the setting. I did the "one-touch unlock" myself and maybe one or two others I can't recall. The DRLs might require the dealer to do it.

Coincidentally, I recently had a 2010 RX as a loaner and it had a "DRL off" position on the stalk, so you can just turn them off at any time. I wonder if Lexus will adopt that across the line.
The DRL's do require the dealer to do.

The one touch you can do yourself:
just grab your key fob and stand near your car with the car off. Hold down the lock button and any other button on the remote for 5 seconds.you'll seen an icon on your multi info display showing all 4 doors open.

This only changes the unlock mode for the door touch sensor not the keyfob.
Thanks Infinus... that worked... we should put together a list of all the 'customizable' features that can be done, without going to the dealer!

The door was a biggie, so thanks!

Dave
Your Welcome.

I have the paper the tech from the dealer gave me the only other things you can do yourself are:

Disable the electrical keyfobs
Turn off the seatbelt buzzer

Everything else needs to be done with the scan tool.

Oh and as far as the roof/windows, you can open them by holding the unlock button down but to close them you have to use the key. They can also be opened with the key. These only work with the engine off.

If using the key fob holding down unlock for more than 3 seconds opens the windows, 3.4 seconds will open the sunroof also.

When using the key holding it to the lock position for 1.5 seconds will roll up the windows, unlock position for 1.5 seconds will roll down the windows.

My G35 was the same way, its a bit annoying to have one linked to the keyfob but not the other but theres nothing you can do unless you get an aftermarket alarm.

Agreed, please post that one too.

(Bummer... my buddies Audi 'rolls up' the windows from remote key fob).

With car ON.. make sure the Trip-O-meter is set to ODO..

Turn off car...

Push the start button twice.. (Do Not press pedal)

As soon as the gauges begin cycling.
Press and hold the trip button for 10 mississippi’s... count them out, its fun!
On the 10th one, click and fasten your drivers seat belt.. still holding the trip button down..

A selection will appear in the ODO section that says "B-ON" or "B-OFF".
Press the trip button till it reads B-OFF....
Does turning the seat belt buzzer off disable the passenger side as well, or just for the driver?

Thanks!

It turns them both off.
It turns them both off.
Cool! It is really annoying when my dog is in the front seat and she is just heavy enough to set of the buzzer depending on how she is lying on the seat.

There are two seat belt buzzer procedures. One to disable both and one to disable just the passenger. The one Joe was talking about was for both. If anyone wants just the passenger side let me know.
This will unlock all four doors for the door touch sensor? What do you mean when you say "..and any other button..." All buttons on the remote?

The DRL's do require the dealer to do.

Thanks guys, I did the sequence and turned off the seat belt alarm and I'm loving it...i have a VERY short ride to work every day and never put on my seat belt and I'm usually pulling into the office about 30 seconds after the alarm finally stops...it's nice to have a quite ride now....there should be a sticky with all these tricks in it if there isn't one..

I mean press unlock and lock or unlock and the trunk button or any other button on the keyfob.
What about reversing this?

So, if I try this and decide I want to go back to the default, what's the sequence to do that?

Just do the same sequence again and it will go back to just the driver door.
