You mean you want an ipod adapter for the ISF to control it via the nav screen?

Your options are to use the vaistech adapter, or the oem ipod adapter they can be found here:

vaistech:
www.vaistech.com
OEM:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYO...wItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item2a03aaffab

I personally bought the OEM one and installed it myself, it was kind of a pain but worth it versus having to pay the dealership.

Alternatively you can just use the aux headphone jack in the armrest but you will have to control your ipod manually.
im not sure if the vais interface is better
but the oem kit has a horrible interface
i have the oem kit
and its horrible to find songs on
so I shuffle all the time

I've gotten the hang of it now and can do it pretty quick but it could really be improved. I also dislike the fact that it lacks a repeat function.
I ordered the one through the dealer. Is this the better one? I saw a writeup (I believe) over at CL.
can anyone direct me to a write-up on this for our F's? Thanks.
^Are you looking for a DIY writeup or a review writeup?

Mike,

I took a shot at it and got frustrated. I really don't understand the logic behind making such a difficult lock to hold in these vents. This is what I do for a living but God damn I was sweating bullets trying not to scratch anything! I'll just have Lexus do it.

Patience, my friend! I went with the vaistech and installed it myself, and I don't even do it for a living. It's true that the vents are a pain, but when you get it, that would be better than paying someone else to do it. I went through it a couple of times when I installed the override as well. YOU CAN DOOIIITT!!
The Dealer wants $400 bucks. OMG, I better get the vents off. This sux :(

I got a similar quote (parts and labor) from the dealer when I was buying my car. Apparently, the installation does take a bit of tech time. I just made sure to have them throw it in before I signed the paperwork for the car. :D

Oh, and for anyone considering this, by default they were going to put the cable in the glove compartment, but I asked if it could go in the center console and they did that instead.

As far as navigating the OEM interface, it does allow you to browse playlists, so I make a couple playlists specifically for the car and update them in iTunes every now and then. If you have a ton of music on your iPod, the interface does make it tough to select a certain album or track.
