I just got a pm from the op and sent him an email reply:

"Hi there how are you? My name is John and I'm the owner of Carbon One. I read that you were interested in a rear insert? If so, I'd be happy to help. If not, then I do apologize for this PM.

I'd also like to apologize for taking so long to respond. I have not been on here in quite some time. I was told that a few members were looking for these parts. I logged in and sure enough there were a few PMs so its safe to say I'll be restarting this product.

Again, if you are interested I'd be more then happy to give you a good price and can guarantee a part ready to ship with in 4 - 7 days. However if you are not interested or I misinterpreted what you said you were interested in, I do apologize and hope I have note wasted your time with this PM.

^ I sent that to a couple members who PMed me a while back and who posted on this last page. I also sent PMs to those who I read where unhappy with their order. The intent was to, (and I said so in the PM) to send them new inserts if they'd like to replace their old ones if necessary. From what I hear, I owe several people here have been stating that they never got their insert. I'm curious to see if that was true since in the end everybody to my knowledge has gotten one. So if you have not, email me at [email protected] to be taken care of.

Yes, the pm was very kind. I just wanted to know if there was still a problem as it seems some people are still saying that they maybe never got their items.

There is another post under the general discussion tab on this subject as well...

Could some members that have experiences with John speak up her. It seems he has a great product and something I would be interested in...

I would avoid this like the plauge.... Sounds like the same deal we had years ago on the x-fire forum with the side skirts!

Yea, I am very cautious but if it would pan out, it would look great if done right. Those skirts were a real disaster. At least this guys name is not Dan....:confused:

Yep, it does look great, if I do say so myself. I designed the part. However, John is not to be trusted. The first one I got took me months to get and cracked. The second one took almost a year, and John ignored me until I tracked him down at another forum and started making noise over there. He then sent me another one (without adhesive) which appears to be standing up. My problem with him is, that I recommended him to so many folks, and he let me and them down. He is now in trouble on the Lotus Forum where he is a sponsor, and is being closely monitored by the admins. Again, my advice, stay from him.

I know what I did was terribly wrong and if it were not for the quality and uniqueness of my products I would not have gotten a chance to move into a shop and slowly upgrade. Yes I've made the same mistake more than once but I know if I don't keep straight then I will never make it in this business and could lose a lot more than just 5 years of my life.

I told you several times then and now if there was anything I could ever help you with then I'd be more then happy to do so. If you needed a new insert today, next week, or in 5 years you'd bet I'd get right ontop of making a new one for you for a replacement. I have nothing against you and hope one day you will not have anything against me.

This goes for anybody, (customer and viewer) who feels the same way about me.

I'm from the Lotus forum ;
John Perez, AKA Carbon John, Carbon 1 has been scamming car owners on the Lotus, Lamborghini, Tesla owner’s forums.

John Perez still owes me a pair of my OEM front access covers and rear wing assembly.

He has had my parts for over a year now, and have promised to send me my parts and the CF parts; but you’ve heard that story before.

Here’s the last few emails I’ve had with John.

Hopefully I’ll get my parts before the end of this year.


Adam how are you?! I'm so very sorry for everything. I understand that
means nothing, but I feel terrible for stringing this on even more. I
have your package will be picked up tomorrow. When it is, I'll let you
know. It should be around 10ish my time. Maybe 11. AM that is.

.....Anyways... I did email the dimensions. Weather you believe me or
not it doesnt matter because here are the dimensions again. 40x14x8.
Thats for all four of the access covers. I'll let you know the
dimensions of the wing this week. I'd like to first just get this box
out of the way. If you can give me the shipping label then that would
be great. I have someone who works with me who can take the package to
FedEx, UPS, or USPS for us. If you'd like me to take updated pictures
for you to show you they are still in the condition they were in
before, and they are still finished and ready to go please do let me
know. I'll unbox them and take a few good pictures in the sun and
flourescent lighting for you.

Hope once you see the quality it will make you feel better about all
of this because regardless of what goes on outside our emails, I still
want you to be happy with the parts I send you.

I know I'm new but I have a lot of forum experience which brings me to my question...

Why was this guy even allowed to post advertising a product/service when he isn't yet a sponsor? Saying "we will be" a sponsor but still advertising usually goes against most forum's rules.
