Brakes?

Do anyones brakes squeek when stopping? you know what i'm talking about. I mean the braking is great but I just starting hearing squeeking about a week ago? Is this something to get checked out or can I wait till the 5,000 mile service. I have about 2200 miles right now.

Thanks

I notice it too, especially when I'm rolling to a slow stop. It's normal and probably just brake dust. When you get on the brakes hard and hear them squeak then they would need to be replaced but nothing to worry about:)
Mine started the week I got it...It kept on squeaking..The dealer told me it's do to brembo's tight grip on the brakes..Best thing is use some type of break dust fluid and wash it out..
Final Result: After washing out the rims it would squeak for 4-5 times when I drive and then once it dries it stops..
At least that's me..I use Meguiar's quick polish..BTW, I just hit 10K miles as of this writing..I need make a appointment for Oil change at the dealer..
thanks guys I really appreciate your response.
its also possible that you might watch your rims to much, that may cause alot of screeching just keep on driving out the brake pads and what not, my friend has an SRT8 Jeep and he watches his rims all the time and after having only a month or so the brakes started to screech really loudly,

Also mine does screech a little only if i apply my brakes really slowly before i come to a complete stop, its weird!

I "watch" my rims as well, but it's not as rewarding as "watching" television :D

I had this problem at around the same mileage you do. I talked to two dealerships and they said that since they're high friction brakes, if you don't use them to their full potential a light film can build on the rotor. They said to take the car out on the freeway or open road and when safe, do a really quick run to 0-80 or 100 then slow the car really quickly, not screeching tires quick but decently quick. When you do this, its supposed to help burn off the film. I did this on an open road 3-4 times (brought the car up to 80, then slowed really quick down to 40 and brought it back up to 100 and did the same thing) and it stopped the squeaking :)
I have noticed that also. I just use air to blow them out once a month. You may notice the brake dust is also filling the holes on the rotors.
Common to hear them make noise. As stated above, if not used like they are designed, they will make noise.
seeing that I do quick accelerations to 100mph on my daily commute I have not seen this problem :)
^ you can accelerate to 100MPH all you want, that has nothing to do with the brakes unless your slowing down quickly from that speed to about 50mph..
cool thanks guys! I go about 90 mph highway and 60 to 70 in the streets. So speed isnt the problem so im going to have to try that quick :) braking tip.

Ya, like I posted earlier, when you get up to that speed and no ones around, slam on the brakes (not till you burn tires) but until you get a really good stop and bring it down to about 40-50 and do it a few times. It should help out a lot
I did but it still happened. High friction brake pads tend to squeak even if you bed them because when they're not used to their full potential, they develop a film. I bedded mine and still had squeaking problems
Bedding on these brakes means you have to keep bedding them. I constantly smell the friction surface when I get out after spirited runs. Keep em clean boys...
