Make sure you can deal with the ridiculous top. I've seen it put up on TV and it looks like trying to erect a tent. It would drive me nuts.

If you decide to go this route, make sure you drive a Boxster S and make sure it is worth the compromises for the Boxster Spyder.

I'll echo the other comments here, if it were me I'd keep the F.

Boxter Spyder. Wikipedia says that "the Boxster Spyder will be the lightest Porsche on the market, weighing 2,811 pounds (1,275 kg), a full 176 pounds (80 kg) lighter than a Boxster S. This has been achieved through the elimination of the conventional soft top's operating mechanism, the radio/PCM unit, air conditioning, storage compartments..." Dude, are you sure you don't need the air con in Austin? I mean handling is one thing but you'll be driving it in Speedos in the summer.
I believe you can add the A/C and stereo back. Given that it is Porsche, you will have to pay extra for them. :p
