Is the LM60 replacing the LM25 as the performance snow tire in Bridgestones line? What does the LM60 bring over and above the LM25? Thank you.

LM25s are now obsolete. As far as I understand the LM60s have an improved tread pattern for gripping ice/snow and slightly higher durability (at the cost of one notch down on speed rating). The LM25s were V-Rating (240km/h) the LM60s is an H-rating (210km/h). However, I doubt you would want to go that fast with winters. The low temp performance is noted to be better as well.

I noticed some good deals out there on LM25s though as warehouses empty stock. The list price on the LM60s is also lower from my research.
Molson is correct.

The LM25 is being phaised out in certain sizes and is being replaced with the LM60.
I live in Wisconson and we get a lot of snow and it gets very cold. What should I run on my IS-F. Safety is my TOP concern for my IS-F.

A winter tire is certainly the way to go for you. Are you driving on mostly cleared roads?
Yes I know a winter tire, but which one? There are so many to choose from. I'm think instead of buying 18" rims that I'll get original size winter tires and have them mounted on the stock rims every winter. 225/40/19 and 255/35/19. There is a tire place near my house will will charge $50 per year for the service of taking them on and off 2 times a year.

$50.00 a year is not a bad price at all. Just keep in mind, the chemicals and salt that is put down on the roads can cause damage to the wheels.

If you are going to stick with the factory sizes, I'm not sure if any manufacturer offers a matching combination. What you may consider is running 245/40-19's all the way around. This size is approved for both the front and rear wheels. A great model to look into would be the Goodyear SP Winter Sport M3. This is a performance winter tire designed for great dry handling and superior traction in ice and light snow.

Does that price including balancing? Also in addition to what was said above, your wheels could be damaged very easily by dismounting and remounting tires on the same wheels twice a year. Your idea about getting 18" dedicated wheels plus snow tires is a good one. If I didn't have a beater, my truck, it is certainly the way I would go, if I lived in snow country.

The price is inclusive of mounting and balancing. The other great part is I can rotate both sets of tires every year. I found the matching sets in the LM-25 tire and the shop that will be doing the service for me does a lot of business with sports cars. Every time I go there I see some AMG, M3/5, or other Luxury performance car, so I'm not worried about they doing any damage to the rims. I've dealt with them in the past.

A big selling point for me, even with the salt and elements being exposed to the RIMS is that I have a 100% ISF in the Summer and at 90% ISF in the Winter. When you go down to 18" and a narrow tire on the back, you lose the look and the performance when snow is not down on the ground.

I'm also a little hesitant with putting wider tires on the front of the car, than is stock.

Here is the 19" Blizzak wheel tire package i got from tire rack for $1200 shipped. Im a big fan of my 08 OEM wheels so i figure this would be a good investment....and the tire rack 18" package was more expensive.
