AUX Input Interference

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced interference when using the AUX Input for an iPod or iPhone. I get it only when charging the iPod/iPhone. There is more interference with higher RPM's. Has anyone had any luck with a shielded audio cable? I've used 2 different USB chargers and 3 different audio cables. I don't think any of the cables were shielded though. It happens in my F and our Highlander.

I had that issue then got a Vaistech unit hard wired in for the iPod. Solved all the problems and you can use the steering wheel controls.

Hey, where abouts in BC are you? I'm in Victoria but spend lots of work time in Vancouver.

I'm going to try and find a proper shielded cable first. If that doesn't work I'll probably go with the iPod interface. Does the Vaistech give any better features of the Lexus one?

I'm from Prince George. I'm hoping that our streets will get swept soon so I can start driving the F again.

I was told the only advantage the VAISTech unit has is that it allows you to have both satellite radio and the iPod adapter. I didn't want to pay the $1200 now that my dealer wanted for satellite, but I figured it kept my options open.

I have both Sirius and the Vaistech unit. I got them to throw in the Sirius as part of the purchase so I don't know how much that cost. I complained about the interference on the AUX jack and they didn't charge me for labour to install the Vaistech unit and it was about $400? CAN.

BTW, I would not recommend the Vaitech unit with the 40GB hard drive. I did order that one but after reviewing it and going over the installation with the Lexus tech, we decided it is not user friendly at all in its current format. To use it you really need to go back and remember all your DOS commands, etc. Not my idea of a good time.
