Anyone getting used to the IS-F's power?

Thats how it always is, hopefully the is-f will get some aftermarket support for turbos and superchargers and crack that damn ecu.

I think that as we get more familiar with the F it seems to become more controlled. I really think that it is because we become used to the power, not that it is becoming less powerful. I now miss fewer shifts when in manual mode, know how far to downshift etc.

It becomes second nature. It not any slower, just something you are familiar with now...

Today I was driving and accelerated hard in 2nd gear, then shifted to third but felt the power after the shift didn't feel like it used to (unless I lifted the accelerator and pressed again).

In reading the different responses to you comments. I see that nobody bothered to ask if you were referring to the sport mode, manual or drive mode. It does make a difference as to which mode you are using.

Old$parts, it shouldn't matter what mode your in... You going to get used to the way the vehicle handles and performs no matter which mode your in. I have a 10 sec. drag car that to me is now "slow"... Not becuase it is, but because I'm used to it.

Mode does matter ,,,, How do we know by the comments made by ngl1145 ....."accelerated hard in second"...... that he actually took it to redline or shifted at lower rpms? The car reacts totally different when there is manual shifting and auto shifting. From what I have gleaned, this car learns your shifting characteristics over time and shift patterns are programed accordingly!
Perhanps someone can testify that this true!

The vehicle "learns" to how you drive it in the first 50 starts or so. Looks at how you accelerate, brake, and how often the VSC and Traction Control come in to "save" you....

Yes it was in sport and manual mode. I think I had driven the cars for a few hours that day and I felt numb from driving so long. Really this post was to see if anyone was starting to get used to all the power we have. I drove it again today and it put a smile on my face again I know sometimes it may seem absurd to think that you can get used to 416 hp, but if you drive it often, you adjust your level of what powerful is.

ng 1145 i remeber before i sold my moded subaru legacy i took off each mod one at atime because ifelt they werent working my car did not feel fast after a period of time but after each removal wow what a diff and when it was stock it was so slow !!! the fact is u adjust to the speed have one of your buds drive it get his reaction or better yet take it to your local track i dare u to say your used to the power after one high speed lap.

Exactly! I rented a Chrysler 300 sedan (what a huge boat!) and immediately smiled when I stomped on the gas and NOTHING, relative to the IS F, happened.

Returning from my business trip, I jumped in my IS F at the airport and was again blown away, just like the day I got it, with its power and handling.

Suggestion: If you're ever getting "used" to this ride's power, rent or borrow a "normal" car and you'll be in awe once again in no time.

I just hit the 10K mark and yes, I do indeed notice the power of this car. I normally don't use the sport mode since that eats a lot of my gas but I went into NYC over the weekend from Stamford (37 miles) and you do notice a difference in engine performance.

My problem is that most times I take for granted what I have under the hood and don't focus on enjoying the ride, and just drive from point A to B. But when I do think about it, I turn down the radio and listen to the music from the exhaust. I am definately more comfortable with the power, but not even close to use to it. I can't wait for mod's to become available.
