Hello Everyone,

I am new this this nice site and look forward to learn more about the upcoming Lexus IS-F. The IS-F is on my shopping list for high performance luxury sports sedan. My father has a '04 Lexus GS430 that he purchased brand new. I am the one that does car shopping for my family and after working with Benz, BMW, Acura, and Infiniti, our Lexus dealer was the best to work with IMO.:) I purchased my '07 Saleen S281-SC Mustang back in February but has the itch to get another car. Just have to be careful on my spending since I want to purchase another investment property lol.

On my shopping lists there are only 2 cars, the Lexus IS-F and the upcoming BMW M3 sedan with M-DCT tranny. I have been on the wait list for the M3 from the past few months. If pricing for a loaded model is $68K plus than I will drop off. Our dealership internet/fleet manager said pricing for the IS-F will be $50K+ and I feel it will be a good deal.

Last I got a chance to ride in my ex's IS250 and was surprised how it felt. The ride quality was firm, but not harsh and really sporty. This is how I like my cars. Much different than my father's GS430. So I am sure the IS-F will be a blast to drive.:) Not sure if I will lease or purchase the IS-F or M3, but have over a year to decide, since I will be buying the 2nd model year of either car.

Hope I did not bore all of you with my first post.

I look forward to the feedback and review when you get your Lexus IS-F.

Take Care,
Ron

Thanks dascrow! I will have to wait for one model year, since I just purchased my Saleen back in February. I also want to get final pricing and performance specs. And I have to decide do I really need 2 cars, or have to sell or trade-in my Saleen.

Let us know when you get your new IS-F!

I love the way the outside of the m3 looks, but I just like the interior in the lexus better.. looks more modern.. Any pics of the saleen?
Yes I was thinking the same thing. I was looking at the IS and 3 series back on Sunday. All I can say is the IS has a nicer more modern interior. May be on the M3 with the upgraded leather interior it might help? But if that option has similar pricing like the M5 then it might be near or over US$3K! And my guess is that the IS-F will come very well optioned from the factory.:D I have seen some pics of the new M3 interior on the internet, but from the pics the IS-F has a nicer interior IMO. And for both cars I am waiting for the final U.S. prices.:)

I will try to get some Saleen pics up soon. Please bear with me I am out of town on business and typing this from the hotel.

Welcome aboard! I am also considering the IS-F as my next vehicle. I currently drive a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan, so the IS-F will be a big improvement :) I probably will not be getting the M3 unless they offer an M3 sedan before the IS-F hits the showrooms. I am also considering the Mercedes C63 AMG. Why are you not considering the C63? Nobody knows how much the IS-F will cost, but all my research and internet sources point to a base price a hair under $50K with a well-equipped one going for around $60K.
Hi Ken and thanks for the welcome.:) There is a guess that the M3 sedan might here in the States same time the M3 coupe arrives. They are now both listed on the bmwusa.com site. Good question about the AMG C63. I got to see the new C class upclose couple weeks ago. It is a nice car, but if I have to pay over $60K I would go with the M3. We have a Benz E430 in the family, parent car, but parked at my house lol. It is boring to drive. I even test drove a '06 AMG CLS55 last year. It was fast, but not fun as BMW's IMO. When I test drove the M5 it left a fat grin on my face lol.:D My point is that I feel BMW are more driver oriented than Benz. Also there is quality, our '02 E430 has only 13K miles on it. Last year I had to have the steering wheel shaft replaced and with extended warranty paid $1100+ out of my pocket just to get OEM parts:mad:

That brings me to the current '07 Audi RS4. I saw one in Newport Beach during my business trip to So. Cal. Very nice car, but disliked the price and that it only comes in a manual. I am really looking forward to the upcoming BMW M-DCT tranny aka dual-clutch and the 8 speed auto with manual mode in the IS-F. Also I like the interior of the Lexus more than the Benz so far too. Even more than the upcoming M3.

As for IS-F pricing, it is not released yet. I keep reading and hearing it will be in the $50K which I feel is a deal compared to the German rivals. Even the M3 pricing has not been released and I am dying to them lol.

Even though I will be getting the 2nd model year of either the IS-F or M3 Sedan I still would like to know pricing. It will help me to decide to lease or if I do a strait purchase I will also have to decide to sell or trade-in my Saleen; which I really do not want to do.

Not only that, I just think Toyota builds a better motor. Thats why I got rid of my chevy truck for a new tundra :)
How do you like your new Tundra? Did you get the optional, I think 6.1ltr V-8? Regardless they are very nice trucks. Yeah I am also worried having to maintain a German car once out of warranty. It can get freaking costly. If I lease than I can just return the car prior to factory warranty running out.

Also I got back to the office and still catching up with work. Will try to get pics of my Saleen lol. I had blast with it in S. California and cruised around in Orange County with high end exotics.
