Alignment problem. Dealer replacing LH/RH bracket.

Wow it's been so long since I've been on here! Just to update, I've been F-less since last Friday. I originally brought the car in that day because apparently I've had a nail in the RR tire that has been causing my air pressure in that tire to drop. It's hard to notice since the rear of the car, even at stock height, hides the tread well. It was the 2nd time the TPMS went off in 2 weeks so I figured there has to be something wrong and low and behold I lift the car and rotate the tire manually and see a nail in the tread.

While I was there, I went ahead and mentioned my alignment problem. The car always is leaning to the right. I confirmed that on many different roads. I had the alignment checked and done last month when I last visited for the "1k service". I again mentioned the alignment problem and they checked it out again. The tech tried several times to fix it and could not get it to spec. Finally, he looked online at the Lexus tech site and found in the flowchart to replace some parts with some updated versions to see if this will solve the problem. So here I am still waiting for the car tooling around in a loaner IS250. Dam I miss the F! Been spoiled by the power and features.

Anyway, once I get the car back I'll post details on what parts exactly were replaced. The parts are on backorder since they are pretty rare to make. I was just told they were LH/RH brackets. Nothing specific unfortunately. I'm hoping to have the F back by the end of the week.

sorry to hear that. hope it'll be alright again.
please keep us updated what parts were replaced.
can you also get the factory alignment specs and compare what went wrong?
Thanks I most definitely will. Sorry, forgot to mention that the problem was with the caster adjustment.
Thanks for the info, I just hope there was no prior damage on the car (suspension) before you bought it. Kindly check the replaced parts and see if any of them are bent, hopefully not. If they are and not casued by you, you may want to see how that happened. Did you go into any major potholes?
No, I stayed clear away from potholes and such. It's an updated part. It's not even a TSB. My car was an earlier build. #299 to be exact. This part replacement is a last ditch effort as discussed in the troubleshoot flowchart.
Good to know that damage is out of the question. By the way, how do you tell your car's production number? I'd like to know what number my car is.

Look at your VIN. It's the last five digits. Mine is 4420, one of the late 08s.

Lou
Yeah, mine is 0299. Anyway, just heard from the dealership that parts finally came in today and the car should be worked on and done by tomorrow. Here's hoping!
That stinks that you had an alignment problem. Glad it's getting fixed up and back to you
Finally got my baby back today! Wow I really missed the F. First thing I did driving back home on the freeway onramp was to floor it. :D Oh how I missed the power. Wheel spin galore but the TC put an end to that haha.

Anyway, the tire is plugged and the updated parts are in and the car tracks straight now. The parts are listed as "Bracket Sub-Assy" 48075-53020 & 48075-53030. The job would have cost ~$350 outside of warranty.
i pull a bit right as well
this is a really good post for me
at my first check up i will mention it
Haha good to hear you got the car back. Are you back in Riverside or are you done now?
Glad to know that everything's fine and dandy now. I'll check my VIN when I get home. Thanks, Lou.
Thanks Flip. I'm still in school taking my last 2 classes. So I'm there Tuesday-Thursday. The F stays in San Diego though. :)
Bring it up one of these weeks and we can do a F meet soon. :D

My car pulls right too! :( Have you noticed ANY pulling since this was done?
My F drifts to the right also, and the dealer has done 2 alignments and is blameing it on the tires!!! AND NOW I hear there is a lexus tech update on the problem, I'm call them right now..... Thanks for the info guys.
I think I might have the same problem put on new Toyo's alignment is right on but there is just a very slight lean to the right not bad but it is there. And have tried it on side roads highway everywhere.
I've also brought my ISF for alignment after seeing some feathering on tires. The toes had to be adjusted.
Are there any after market camber kits available? I need much more aggressive negative camber to track my car. The factory specs are -1.25 max . I need -2 at least. Any response will be appreciated.

Can you confirm there is an actual tech update on the IS-F?
My car was pulling right, they swapped tires, side to side, and now it pulls left. I truly think it could be the tires. Maybe they need to replace?
Most of you may recall there was a TSIB for alignment/pulling issues on the IS350... link here:

I wonder if the similar problem goes for the IS-F???
