I'm not an admin so I can't start a poll...but for curiosity how many of you others switch the power button on before putting on your seatbelt?

Also do any of you not use your power button? How many are in power mode ALL the time?

Huh??? I'm very confused...

And... are you talking about an IS250? I don't believe the IS-F has a "Power" button. Unless you are referring to the START/STOP button.!? Either way... I'm confused.
^^^^He's referring to the Sport Mode rocker behind the steering wheel (on the right side) on the '08 to '10 models and on the right side of the steering wheel under the Bluetooth controls on the '11 models. A number of threads have been written about this. IMO, the throttle response in unacceptable in normal mode. I automatically switch to Sport Mode every time I drive.

Ahh... "SPORT" button makes sense. I was confused bc it was being called a "POWER" button. I was thinking to myself... Hmmm, I could make good use of that! Where exactly is this mythical button.!? lol
In heavy traffic, normal mode is better for crawling along IMHO. I can modulate small throttle openings much better.

Otherwise sport mode is a lot more fun.

Yes, sports mode, sorry about that ;-) I also click it into snow mode if I find myself misbehaving.
Poll started...good idea. We haven't had a fun poll in a while.
I don't use sport mode that often. My drive to work is less than 2 miles, and I go through a school zone and 4 stop lights. Not enough time for me to get to enjoy it. I think it makes me enjoy sport mode that much more when I do get the chance to use it.

Yeah, judges should sentence us to 30 days in snow mode after a ticket and no other fine!;)

lol, now that's creative punishment :D
Anyone else getting better gas mileage in sport + manual? Having the torque converter locked up in 2 to 8th seems to get me closer to the rated mileage and still have some fun.

Snow mode on these cars is excellent. Far better than the BMW and Audi I test drove last winter.

There should be an option for those who drive without any electronic assistance.

I get far worse gas mileage when I am in sport mode. I did a comparison by driving in normal mode for a full tank and then a full tank in sport mode. The difference was pretty big, but it was not a fair test. For some reason whenever I push the sport button I push the gas pedal more:D. LOTS MORE!! I tried a couple other times, but I keep having the same problem. Whenever I'm in sport mode I just like to feel the power that much more. I even attempted to compare manual to auto. Same problem. I just can't engage manual without the sport button....and you know where that leads me:p
City driving gas mileage never goes well :) try using sport + manual in 8th for long highway trips. It seems Lexus was after the smooth ride quality and eliminating shift shock at the expense of fuel consumption in normal mode.
I've been able to get about 26-27 mpg driving 2 hrs to Cape Cod in manual and in sport mode.
Sport Mode 90% of the time.....

Snow mode for when cops are around me. It helps me pull away from a stop with the least amount of throaty exhaust noise... ;)

Turn on mine when needed, also always with traction off...
HOLY HELL THERE IS A SPORT MODE ON THIS CAR?.....kidding. i really only get into it if i see a car creeping up of equal or greater value ;)...power value that is

So for long hwy trips this is the best way to get better mpg? I had no idea

I guess it depends on you. I have never gotten better mpg's in sport mode. For some reason, when that little green light is on my foot gets heavy too!:D
^ I got close gas mileage whether on gramma mode or sport mode on city drivings:

54L 94Oct = 358km (City Only on Sport Mode)
50L 94Oct = 350km (City Only on Auto Mode)
