Go to the link I provided above that explains the warranty issue so its no longer a factor..Everything I have read about the GTR makes me drool. Now it is Motor Trend's 2009 COTY. I haven't seen one on the road, let alone driven one. Therefore, I wouldn't want to make a determination. I would test drive one before buying if you are considering it to be your daily driver. Jack, you have owned/driven the F. I would imagine that a test drive in the GTR will quickly tell you if it can be a daily driver. Just watch the launch control. I don't know if they fixed the tranny yet, but we have all heard about the voided warranty stories. 20k for a new tranny....ouch.
This is kinda funny b/c I'm telling this story as of now 3rd or 4th time but um last year around mid April(16 days of owning the F) I had a Nissan Dealer telling me about the GT-R asking me to trade the F for it..But back then I had no idea what the GT-R was till I did some research..Nice thank you, but what about the everyday. Would it make it as a everyylday car? Was my spelling better on this one?
Is there something in particular you don't like about the F if you don't mind me asking...get the gtr without a doubt my buddy has one and its just an all around good car. im looking to get rid of my f and maby buy one next year.
Interesting stuff, thanks for that info, it's good to know!I have a 08GTR and a IS350 (which is about to be replace with an IS-F in a few month...). To be honest, GTR is brutally fast and fun but for everyday driving in traffic and city, I prefere my Lexus anyday.
I think we all know the positives of the GTR but here are some of the negatives compaired to the ISF. 1. Ride, 2. in town the GTR can feel builky. The Lexus corners well in parking lots, etc but the GTR does not. Often, you need to go back and forth and cut your wheel many times..... 3. Quality of the car itself. Lexus makes better cars - hands down. 5. Service. No comparison in service between Nissan and Lexus. 6. Lexus in Japan seem more flexible where Nissan will voild your warrnaty for the smallest things.
If you intend to take any long trips, Lexus is better. That being said, if you want to hot rod around town, country roads, GTR is a must as it is alot of fun and get's a lot of attention. But ISF is more comfortable and much better as a car in general. It all depends on what you want as they are both great cars but very different.
I made a $30K deposit on the car but due to circumstance with my business and economic issue I had to get the deposit back(They took 5% from $30K)which was around $28,500
Actually it was..This was when I thought 110% sure that I was able afford it..^^^^+1 here. WOW - who the heck do they think they are. Was this in writing - up front? If not, get you money back. $1,500 is an awful lot of money. In any case, report them to the BBB.
