Got a car for a gift, fix or sell and lease a car with money?

I got a 2002 Lexus ES300 as a gift from a family member. Has 170k miles on it, not too bad.

Mechanical repairs required are about $2,400 and cosmetic repairs of about $2,000.

Would it be better to just sell it as is, its value right now is around $4500...use the money to lease a car or would fixing it and making it near perfect again be a better idea? Cheapest lease I can get right now would be $170 a month with $2700 down, totaling $9400 by the end of the mini cn900 key programmer.

Every day a little hard, you will from closer to the dream, one day you will realize your dream

Should you fix up your old car or buy a new one? ... time this has happened, and you're getting tired of pouring money into an aging machine.
