The F makes a fun road trip car...one minute you have it on cruise control getting 28 mpg, the next you decide to surprise some retard next to you by leaving them in the dust.

2008 Lexus IS F - SGM - JoeZ intake pipe, Tom's filter, Borla catback exhaust, 30% tint all around, 245/35R19 and 275/30R19 Continental DWS tires
2006 Honda CBR1000RR - Akrapovic Evolution Line Race Exhaust, BMC Race Air Filters, Vortec Rear Sets, Bazzaz Tuner, Dyno Mapped
2000 Honda S2000 (Sold and missed)- AP2 in an AP1, BC coilovers, Prodrive monoblock forged wheels, etc.

haha yeah. but when we hit the Rockies I was getting it handed to me. summer tires and snow with those kind of grades was a mess. driving the back roads around Mt Rushmore is highly recomended for the F

Sounds like a fun trip...minus the snow. I know I'd be a bit puckered slidin around. When it snows here I just park the F and take the family car.

Wow, glad you made it with summer tires!! I was told you have to disable the traction to avoid stuck on the snow, correct?

oh no not at all. I did a full winter last year in minneapolis. blizzak snow package and sow mode works great on these cars. I had my is300 for about 4 years in minnesota also with no issues.

I am glad to know about your road trip to Alaska. Believe me if you are out for touring to this place it is simply awesome. Moreover if you take SUV it becomes the source of more fun and enjoyment. Next weekend I will be out for the trip. I will also be updating my pics.
