here are some pics I took while investigating the intake path which helped me draw the conclusion that the intake flap could be disconnected.

So if you take that off would check engine light come on?

Looking at these pics, it makes me wonder... the Amsoil filter is much thicker than the stock filters and it looks like the flap needs some clearance space in order for it to open up... any chance that the Amsoil filter could potentially block this flap from opening?

any difference with it removed?
