i was wondering how many miles was on your car when you got delivery?
is it normal that is-f have high milage on them?
i bought numerous cars before, and all of them i bought with no more than 20 miles on it.

Mine had maybe 15-20 miles on it. Anything over a couple of hundred and the dealer may have been using it for a demo. Andy from McGrath Lexus will probably be able to shed some light on this too...

I got mine with 17 back in June :)

How many does one of the ones your looking at or purchased have already?

Andy is the guy to talk to about this like ChrisH said :D

EVERY lexus car will have at least 10-20 miles on it. It's part of Lexus' mantra (if you will) to inspect and test drive EVERY Lexus to ensure your vehicle has no problems. That's why there are very few recalls. If you have more than 20 miles on it then maybe you should ask the dealer why? They HAVE to explain the miles, otherwise dont buy the car, maybe it was a demo,or a saleman of the month got a weekes ride for his/her achievement. :D

I would say, if the car has more than 100 miles, ask why? Sometime's dealerships trade car's locally and drive them.

Yeah maybe the 100 Mile mark is a bit rediculous, i had actually 33 miles on it, but it seemed fine not like it was so used or anything, you know what im saying

A car with more than 100 miles is a car that has been test driven, or has been used as a demo. We flat bed our cars for dealer trades to avoid mileage, but not everyone does this. I would ask why the car has the mileage. You may get a discount on a car with mileage, but find out why first.

i am thinking anything over 20 i am not buying. cause i know it has been on a test drive. And we all know what happens when on a test drive.

The best way to accomplish that is to order your car.;)

"i am thinking anything over 20 i am not buying "

EXACTLY,... I had the opportunity to buy a nice black one in the showroom but I knew it was test driven and it had around 100 miles on it and I said no way.! I waited for a Smokey Granite one to come in off the boat, bought it with 13 miles on it...,it's just like rental cars people do beat them up.Not as bad as rentals but you all know what I mean.As for a deal on a Demo, yeah you get a great deal but it's still "used" and I dont feel comfortable buying something I didn't break in properly or did myself. She has to be tight for me the first time...:D

If the mechanic actually drove the car like they are suppose to during PDI, it might be right around 10-20 miles. Again, if it is a local trade, we drive them. 100 is worse case before I would ask alot of questions....

My F had 17 on the ODO... As SuperFreak say.. Order your car as I did. My salesman called the day b4 it was enroute from port of entry. However I feel a new car should have no more than 50 miles ODO.. Period. Or Discount.

ordered my car and took delivery with 3 miles on odometer. Was told only IS-F trained service tech had test driven the car!

That's amazing, they usually have more than that from driving on the ship, driving at port, and then being driven when they go through PDI. I have never seen a car with that little miles on it, usually they may have 7-10 miles on 'em.

If your getting a F on a Invoice price go for it..I read how much the dealer pays on the F thru a magazine..If the info is accurate and if you get it for the price, I say shoot..DO IT!!!:D That's less money you spend for the same thing I or some of us paid over $61K..At least I did with every option that came up to little over $70K with Tax and markup fee and I got Ext warranty..

where is this dealer with more than 10 if you dont mind me asking?

jctheplaya888
09-28-2008, 03:31 PM
yeah, thats unlikely to have more than 10 IS-F, these cars arent going to get you any cheaper, unless they have 09's and they just really want to get rid of the 08's otherwise they wouldnt lower the car price, because its like a brand new type of model, so don't get to excited...cause the 09's are exactly the same as the 08's just a couple of interior modifications and thats it, so there is no reason to sell them cheaper just cause its the new year when they look exactly the same....and i really doubt that the dealership has over 10, honestly, because if it was a good dealership it wouldn't be holding a lot in inventory they would be selling fast, and if it was a bad dealership they wouldn't be getting that many in, the dealership around me is amazing at selling and what not and they have 2 in stock right now...lol

mine had 10 miles. also the dealer had 6 f's for sale when i bought. so a dealer with ~10 doesn't seem unreasonable especially given the state of the economy.

yea a dealer with more than 10 is so possible. All the dealers around my vicinity have at least 6 in stock as of now. One dealer i know has 9 as of yesterday.

i dont know about other locations but where i live the isf dont seem to be selling well. I am about to get one and visit the dealer and call in time and time again, just to calm myself down for the time being without it, untill i resolve my private trade in gets dealt with. And there arnt that many people shopping around, and at that they arnt looking at the isf.

I was actually at the dealership here in Austin twice in the previous two weeks (don't ask) and they had the same Ultrasonic Blue F sitting on the showroom floor. Said it was the only one they had ordered and in stock. The manager there said they are having trouble selling any cars at all right now with the state of the economy

mine had 125, no biggie considering the price I got. Not worried at all.
They could not have pushed the car the way I have already.
