All I can confirm for now is that the 09's will have a red/black two tone interior option !! But again, less than 5 % will have it. Nothing else is being said besides "VERY Minor" changes.......

Trying to get more out of my sources !!!!

Isn't that the Neiman Marcus edition? I could be mistaken.

ISFChamp
06-26-2008, 08:46 PM
Nope, Neiman Marcus was Black on black with White stiching and white on the bottom section of the steering wheel. Your talking to me Smoke, come on now lol lol ;)

hmm...red/black? so its like the alpine except red instead of white?

Bulls23337
06-26-2008, 08:49 PM
and are they discontinuing the alpine now that red/black is out or is this an additional option?

I wish I knew, but my sources are keeping a tight lip !!! Can't blame them really... But if I was to bet... I'd say the Alpine is going away.

ISFChamp
06-26-2008, 08:52 PM
And if that's the case, the Alpine Interior vehicle are going to be VERY rare !!!!!!!

that would be my guess too since there were issues with the alpine staining? good thing i placed my order already for it lol. hello excellent resale value! haha but then again, mine for sure will be an '09 since it wont be here till november. i hope i can still get the alpine interior since the order was placed earlier this week. =\

when do the details for the '09 come out?

Your right for some reason I thought this new red/black color was another Neiman Marcus edition because I saw in an advertisement (in Japan) there was a black ISF with red interior and it had the Neiman Marcus wheels on it.Which has chrome on the spokes. Just craaazee ol me lol

I asked my "sources" (lol) and I am told there is no issue with the white interiors, staining or or any other issues.

Black interior is an easier color to sell, not many want to gamble on being able to sell the white interior cars.

I was told NOT to get my hopes up about getting cooled seats.... They don't want to have to re-do the seats to get it to work.

Thanks for the info, especially about the cooled seats. I can't wait to hear more about the new interior and minor changes.

Hey mainliner, haven't seen you around! How have things been going?

I have heard from a few Lexus sales reps whom I trust that the white interior is subject to staining from certain dark clothing articles such as jeans. I experienced it "first hand" with the Lotus (white) interior in my 1988 BMW M6 which is why I went with the black interior for my IS-F. The white interior however is beautiful.

I love the way the white looks but I too was concerned about that look changing over time. I guess I'm glad I didn't have to make the hard decision at the time since I only had one choice :)

Not at this point, but it is a special order option only at this time.

Red/Black is just speculated projection at this point. More to come though.

Just got the September edition of Car and Driver magazine with the updates for all the new brands and what to expect...it says the Lexus IS-F "forgoes the exterior and chassis revisions but gets a modified instrument panel." Anyone know any more about the instrument panel? Just curious :)

Great article

I just removed a pictures of the article from the forum because it would probably be in violation copyright laws. Sorry!

0 to 60 in 4.3 Seconds....12.7 at 112 MPH in the Quarter ...Very Respectable!!!

Thats in the new Motor Trend, which is a good article, I can't wait to see what they say about their long term test!! :)

The new Car and Driver just came out, and was curious about the instrument updates it mentioned for the 2009 IS-F :D

I'm curious to know if the supposed 09 IS coupe (see current Car & Driver) will be available in an F version.

ISFChamp

The IS coupe should have an "F" version, but not right away.

hmm...IS-F coupe. wonder how it'd look and if it'd be that much different than the sedan performance-wise.

My thoughts exactly...does anyone have any ideas on estimated (or tested??) performance data/times?

Coupe sounds really interesting and I'd love a pic if there are any links to one out there?

Tks.

Ok, here's a little more info for everyone !! The IS-F is now going to have a Black/Red Interior package that is only available with the black exterior. They are going into production now for the 2009 model year, and should start hitting showrooms in about 6 weeks... No other changes are noticed, and no pricing is listed...

Bulls23337
08-08-2008, 06:25 PM
Interesting, only for the black huh? I guess that would be the only color a red/black interior would look good in! Do you know if they're still keeping the Alpine option?

ISFChamp
08-08-2008, 07:57 PM
It looks like they are just using up what they have left in the Alpine, as only 1 IS-F is being built with Alpine, and it's in a Ultrasonic Blue !!

^Maybe it's the one I ordered! :D

So they're not going to change the grille/headlamps/tails, and add the mirrors with the built-in turn signals? You know, just to be "consistent"? lol.

I know that this is still a new model but I figured they'd do what BMW's doing with the '09 M3 sedan revisions even though the M3s have been sold in the states for less than a year.

Here are the (rumored) '09 IS pix, taken out of a Japanese magazine:

From my direct source, he advised that the 09 IS-F will not get the turn signal mirrors like the regular IS250/350.

anymore updates on the difference between 08 ad 09??
how are the 09s being priced right now??

ISFChamp

Below is a link that will show you the cosmetic diffrences between 08 and 09 models. As far as pricing, I think most dealerships don't even have a 09 on the lot yet, and if they do, they have over a year to try to sell it. So taking that in, I would say MSRP is excepted to be paid on a 09. If you want a great deal, scoop up a 08.
