: Elite Headers!
Andy@Elite 01-11-2010, 12:08 AM So as many of you know I pulled the motor apart on dropouts car! Here are a few pics for the less than satisfactory factory manifolds!

lowrider 01-11-2010, 12:15 AM Thanks so much for the picts. Actually they look better than I expected. However, it looks like the right side will flow better than the left. A real collector on the right and the left side seems to have one cylinder directly in the flow of the other three. Do you see a reason for this?

hahaha 01-11-2010, 12:52 AM andy this is awesome how u are posting ur progress:)
doublexl 01-11-2010, 04:24 AM those look horrible. definitely some power to be gained there.....
sweetbird 01-11-2010, 03:24 PM is their going to be any room for after market headers??
hahaha 01-11-2010, 07:23 PM what exactly do headers do?
lowrider 01-11-2010, 08:39 PM ^^^^This says it better than I could:

2URGSE 01-11-2010, 08:47 PM I'm assuming any headers developed will have built in high flow cats???
Andy@Elite 01-11-2010, 09:11 PM Yes cats will be available.
Supraman16 01-12-2010, 03:23 AM Will you have to pull the engine to install any aftermarket headers?
oarngemig 01-12-2010, 09:59 AM I can't believe both Lexus AND Yamaha accepted such a pathetic design for an exhaust manifold. Granted there's no room, then make the f one. Geez!

I don't know this engine bay too well since I haven't bought an ISF yet, however the designers have to take into account smog and other regulations.
It would be pretty interesting to see the final product and the dyno sheets with Joe Z exhaust and intake in addition to the headers.

Those are numbers I would like to see. Perhaps we can crack the 400whp.
Got F? 01-12-2010, 05:49 PM Hmmm...There's a Pepsi can integrated into these manifolds??? No wonder it's running rough. Must be some shameless advertising on Pepsi's part.

Considering I've seen 380 with the exhaust and intake, 400 is pretty much there once everything is installed/running. :)
* This will give the M3 (Perhaps some M5??) guys something to chew on. :p
I get the humor about the Pepsi can..........haha.
Researching this car is pretty fun.
Great! Thanks for the Pics Andy. If you want to team up on anything let me know. I just purchased a 3D scanner and so far the results are pretty sweet. I am mostly concerned also with access, seems like an engine drop to get to. Glad to see a place that obviously smog took its toll.

Andy@Elite 01-18-2010, 03:23 AM Here is a bit of a sneak peak! I have about 15 hours into what you see in this pic!! These things are tight! I was going for equal length, but I would have 300 hours into just one side if I go for that. Sooooooo........ I'm just going to do a nice flowing set of headers, I have done a bit of the math and it really shouldn't make that big of a difference in power. So here you go!

doublexl 01-18-2010, 11:03 AM excellent...
Gymkata 01-18-2010, 01:31 PM Looking good so far. So, will a free flow cat be attached to the end of each side, or are you just deleting the cats completely?

did you say not a big power differance?
p.whitelock 01-18-2010, 05:08 PM He means between pipes of equal length and almost equal. The headers should give good power.

Correct I don't think the difference between equal length and unequal length will be much .
TXISF 01-18-2010, 10:01 PM looking good so far
veerals05 01-18-2010, 10:25 PM Lovin it! I can't wait to jump on these!
oarngemig 01-19-2010, 08:04 AM Andy, any idea on price yet? What diameter pipe are you using?
stick 01-20-2010, 05:25 AM ^^^And what gauge pipe?
Looks good!
Andy@Elite 01-20-2010, 07:04 PM 1 3/8 Piping 16 Gauge... We are thinking the price will be between $1500 and $1800. Coating will be available!
rcracer_tx 01-21-2010, 09:40 PM Wow, pretty expensive, but the product sounds like it is going to be quality and will perform well.
Splat 01-21-2010, 09:58 PM thats not expensive at all for what you are getting and compared to other markets of headers and cars.
oarngemig 01-22-2010, 08:38 AM I will certainly get one once you have debugged it, primarily for fit and clearances to make sure that there's no rubbing while on turns and rough surfaces.
p.whitelock 01-22-2010, 09:52 AM I think the pricing is quite good.
veerals05 01-22-2010, 01:41 PM I was hoping in the 1100 range. Oh well. The power should be worth it. ;-)
phlabrasca 01-24-2010, 02:04 AM My primary concern is losing torque. I definitely lost torque just from installing the Borla catback, and I'm afraid to lose any more? Do you think this is going to be an issue?
TXISF 01-24-2010, 03:29 PM Looks like an awesome product. The 'vette has so much more torque than the is f.
abyars 01-25-2010, 01:09 PM @Andy at Elite, are we looking at raising the engine just to get these in? I have looked at my motor and dang its tight everywhere in there!!!! Gonna be like stuffing a 440 in a Dart but without the fenderwell headers :)
Andy@Elite 01-25-2010, 03:30 PM The engine will most likely need to be removed to get the old ones out! :(

I don't see how you would lose torque when opening up the exhaust.
Get a base run on a dyno and see what the car is doing.

Wow so not exactly an easy install. :( What's the latest news on these headers btw?
Andy@Elite 01-27-2010, 01:26 AM Been pretty busy at the shop and I have not had time to get going on the other side! I will have some updates Saturday I hope!
Andy@Elite 01-30-2010, 06:30 AM Sorry guys been super busy at the shop I just need to get a few things done then back to the Headers. I am working on custom pistons for the IS F right now.... That is whats taking time. We will soon be offering 11.8:1 forged factory replacement for those that wanna spray LOTS of nitrous, and 9.0:1 Compression Pistons for boosted applications on the IS F. The Plug and Play AEM F/IC is also almost finished! I have not forgot about you guys just been working hard!
