Hey everyone, our R&D session is over and we are pleased to tell you that the exhaust will be available around spring 2009. No pricing is available as of yet.

The peak horsepower is 11.8 and gained 21.8 ft/lbs of torque.

Thanks for posting this one here Jack!

I'm with you, I don't like the look at all. I personally like the way the stock exhaust tips look on the car (they make it stand out more from regular IS's)

I don't mind the look of this system at all. Tanabe makes a really nice product. It does take away the uniqueness of the factory stacked quad exhaust but it gives you the option to go with the classic "twin can" look. I having trouble wrapping around the fact that they got that much HP and torque without a complete system though.:o

I prefer the JoeZ PTS exhaust set up, I like the stacked quad exhaust look keep the uniqueness of the IS-F. For just an axle back those gains sound kinda high that whats I'd rather stick with the JoeZ.

I agree. The JoeZ exhaust set up is better because it doesn't take away the factory stacked quad exhaust look. Tanabe, although street legal, should have done the same. I wouldn't want to change the stacked quad look.

There's no comparison between the two systems. IMHO, the Tanabe is a Japanese rice system with little mufflers that has very little to no performance gain. It keeps the stock 2 into 1 into 2 system, and from what I can see the Y may be a little more restrictive than the stock Y. The PTS system on the other hand, is a real improvement. It's a real dual system, eliminates the 2nd cat, uses low restriction resonators and mufflers and is a real quality made system at a realistic price.
