Please contact Doug if you would like to order a set! Thank you.
BigMikeISF 01-22-2009, 06:59 PM Well hmmm another option to consider :) Good stuff Doug, always taking care of us F owners! Thanks!
Flipside909 01-22-2009, 07:08 PM I can vouch for T1-R's. I had them on my previous 07 GS350 w/20's and 04 IS300 w/18's. Very good bang for the buck, they ride quiet, they're not extremely expensive, and the grip very well in wet weather. Great to know you guys have them!
FChampOH 01-23-2009, 04:54 PM Yep, the T1-R's are a great all around tire for the money. I'll be glad to ship a set to you.
Do you have more pictures of the BBS wheels on this car? What size are those wheels? Are they forged? Are they good for the track?

And this is?
BTW, I found the info your wheels on another thread. Thanks.
axtellz 06-11-2009, 02:47 AM 19-8.5 front and 19-9.5 rear. forged, yes. good for the track, yes.
But, those toyos will howl around the corners, if you're driving it right!

And howling is good, right?
axtellz 06-11-2009, 02:57 AM Of course.. I was just being a smart mouthed punk.. All tires squeal as they near the limits of adhesion. My wife REALLY dislikes it when she's riding with me though :-)
FChampOH 06-11-2009, 04:44 PM you usually hear two kinds of tires on the track.. 1. Happy tires, a high pitch squeal that sounds like they are giggling:D through the corners...this is good and ok, it means you are not overdriving the tires.
2. Unhappy tires, a LOW pitch howling-squalling:eek: sound that just sounds wrong. You are most likely pushing them too hard/overdriving their capabilities.
Here is a set of Forgeline EV1R's mounted on an IS-F. These are 1 pc 18" forged wheels with Toyo R888 race compound tires! This set was done for member billandbill.

Yes, I know this setup. I have video of me following him on the track!
But that is too rich for me. If I am going to buy a 3rd set of wheels/tires for my car, I need something less expensive. Like wheels for under 1k! probably 18x9 and 18x10.
FChampOH 06-11-2009, 06:09 PM So billandbill has had them on the track!! I haven't heard any response from him as to how he likes them...
I took the liberty of contacting Forgeline for you to see what they think:
Doug,
A good 18x9 race package would be 18x9 all the way around with the Hoosier
255/40r18's. You could then use the 245/40/18 Alpins for the winter. I
would be willing to do the $3400 price on this set as well if interested.
Hoosiers would run an additional $1180.

This looks like a step in the right direction, you can use your current winter tires on the Forgelines. Might be easier for you to sell just the G-Spider wheels. I would be a little nervous using a set of $1000 wheels at the speed/g-forces I see in your videos. (which I like by the way):D
Doug
So 255 in the front and back? That would work?
And use my 245 winters all around. That is cool.
As much as I would love those forgelines for 3400, don't think I can do it. If I can get something similar for cheap, that would work. I don't care if they have scratches. It is for track!
FChampOH 06-11-2009, 07:46 PM Some final thoughts quoted from the last lines of the Lexus Covenant:
"If you think you can't, you won't...If you think you can, you will!"
Feel better? I wish you luck, I want you to have track wheels as bad as you want them!
