Its Official: I'm In!

Hi all-
Not really a "new member" intro, as i have been searching and asking here for months... but as of today... i am an F owner

08 Obsidian, from Doug (FChampOh) delivered to my door this morning. Sorry, no pics- its about 20 degrees (F) and i am not about to go freeze out there!
I have driven her about one hundred feet, up my driveway and into the garage....

For you regulars around here, this is the car from Lexus of Dayton that has the 4.08 rear gear swap, yellow engine cover, and "aftermarket" BBS rims. and hardwired radar
I got to begin reading the manual, went and started her and sat "taking it all in", but thats it. Kinda like having a lap dance then going and kissing your Mom...

Thanks everyone. And may I say, Doug is an awesome guy to deal with for those who may be looking to purchase.
And the engine cover he sells looks great "in person". I had my doubts from the pics, but in my garage it is indeed handsome!

Please everyone, wish me some warm and dry weather here in "lake effect" snowland of NY!!!!

Another new guy

Hello everyone...Just picked up an '08 Smokey granite mica, fully loaded. I don't post a whole lot, mostly lurked and educated myself over the last several weeks...now that I actually pulled the trigger and have one, will post up a bit more as I get familiar with the car and feel I have something to add...this forum and Club Lexus have been a wealth of knowledge...

After I get a little more seat time, I'll post up some of my impressions. Just to give you some background, I've owned some American muscle over the yrs so really like V8's and the torque they produce....this car seems so refined, yet reminds me of those cars, just 10x better....def. a nice step up. This seems like a really friendly board compared to some of the others I've been on so look forward to getting to know everyone...

One other thing I should mention is the car I bought was purchased from a supporting vendor on this forum (Doug Greenup - Lexus of Dayton). I live in OH so it was only a 70 mile drive from where I live...not too bad. I started talking to Doug via PM's on this forum, then calls and then went there to check things out, see the car, and meet him.

Doug was the ultimate professional and even though I just test drove my first visit, there was no pressure whatsoever to buy RIGHT THEN. I liked that....we talked cars, etc. for quite a while and I enjoyed the country club atmosphere. (My first time in a Lexus dealer). Doug is quite the car guy.

Things got more serious the following days and a week later I was a new owner. I like to try and support vendors who support these forums when possible and are "car guys"...

Just thought I'd share this info as well....had a good experience buying the car. Not to take anything away from any other supporting vendor on this forum....

My Pretty Engine Cover

Ordered this last week from Lexus of Dayton, OH. They'll do it in any factory color you want and give you a core credit refund if you send them your stock one back after receiving your custom one. So anyway UPS delivered it yesterday and I slapped it on this morning.
If anyone is interested here is the original thread on where I found my pretty engine cover. Doug at Lexus of Dayton was awesome!! :

I would like to send out a HUGE thank you to Doug Greenup for the painted engine cover that I received last week. Doug made the ordering process very easy and I received the cover three days later. The quality of work was top-notch and like Doug says, the lines are sharp and crisp. It really makes a huge difference in the engine bay as the newly painted cover blends perfectly but “pops” as well, with the Matador Red paint that I chose to match my exterior. Installation is literally a snap, four to be precise and only takes one minute! I dusted off my stock engine cover, packed it in the original box that the new cover came in, shipped it back to Doug and got my core charge credited back to my credit card! It’s very easy and 100% worth the cost. I think it looks incredible, thanks again Doug for providing this service to the “F” community! I’ll try and take some photos when I return from vacation!
